Frequently asked questions
How do I get started?
Download Panda Contacts from the App Store on your Mac or iPhone, then sign in with the Google Account whose contacts you want to manage. Your contacts appear within a few seconds and stay in sync from then on.
What Google permissions does the app ask for, and why?
At sign-in the app requests access to your Google Contacts — that's the product. Calendar and Gmail access are optional and only requested if you enable calendar context or the email timeline in settings. The email feature reads message headers only, never bodies. Details are in our privacy policy.
How do I enable the calendar and email features?
Open the app's settings and turn on Calendar or Email context. You'll be sent to Google's consent screen to grant that specific permission, and you can pick which calendars to include afterwards. Both features are part of Panda Contacts Pro.
How does duplicate merging work?
Panda scans your contacts on-device for cards that likely refer to the same person (matching names, emails, or phone numbers) and shows them side by side. Merging combines the information into one contact in your Google account. Detection is free; one-tap merge is a Pro feature.
How do subscriptions work across my Mac and iPhone?
Panda Contacts Pro is a single subscription purchased through Apple. It covers both the Mac and iPhone apps as long as you're signed into the same Apple Account. Use “Restore Purchases” in settings if Pro doesn't activate automatically on a second device.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone, or App Store → Account Settings on Mac. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the paid period, and the free features keep working forever.
How do I delete my data or revoke the app's access?
Delete the app to remove everything it stored on your device. To revoke its access to your Google Account, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove Panda Contacts. Your contacts remain safe in your Google account either way.
My contacts aren't syncing — what should I check?
First, pull to refresh (iPhone) or use Sync Now in settings. If nothing changes: check that your device is online, that the app still has Google access (permissions page), and try signing out and back in from settings. Still stuck? Email us — include the “last synced” time from settings.
Is there a Raycast extension?
Yes — on the Mac, the Panda Contacts Raycast extension gives you instant contact lookup from anywhere. Install it from the Raycast Store and it reads the snapshot the Mac app keeps up to date locally.
Privacy questions
Anything about how your data is handled is covered in the privacy policy. The short version: the app has no servers, and your data never leaves your devices except to talk directly to Google and Apple.
